Bridge to Hope

Our Program

Developed by Catholic and Protestant suicide prevention experts, Bridge to Hope integrates evidence-informed practices with traditional Christian beliefs, offering faith-specific training to equip congregations to address suicide prevention within their faith tradition.

Faith-Based

Congregational Change

Building a church culture that supports congregants experiencing suicidal behaviors requires intentional, evidence-informed change. This program guides that process through organizational assessment, training, ongoing guidance, and culture-shaping events.

Evidence-Based

Grounded in research on effective suicide prevention strategies, this program uses three waves of assessment and evaluation to measure changes in your congregation over time.

Congregational

Bridge to Hope aims to change the culture within a church by:

EQUIPPING CHURCHES

Increasing suicide prevention competencies in churches through targeted trainings and educational videos.

REDUCING STIGMA

Bridge to Hope addresses religious stigma around suicide through sermons, testimonies, and more.

DECREASING SUICIDALITY

PROVIDING RESOURCES

The approaches used in our program reduce risks of suicide and may delay the development of suicidal thinking and behaviors.

Increase active help-seeking for suicidal behaviors by providing the congregation with resources and normalizing the conversation.

Evidence-Based

Timeline

Bridge to Hope is divided into 3 waves. During these waves, churches are trained in suicide prevention, administer sermons on suicide, and provide other evidence-based upstream factors. The congregation takes surveys each wave to assess for stigma, suicidality, and help-seeking behaviors.
